  • Are flexible and adaptive
  • Include 4 components:
    • Ice Breaker
    • Teaching/Action
    • Reflective/Sharing
    • Refreshments

Monthy Activity Teams

  • Team concept
  • Teams support and one-on-one support
  • 10-12 members
  • Balanced
  • 2-3 extra high school members

 

One-on-One Contact
(Requires parental permission)

  • Weekly notes - school mail
  • Weekly notes - US Postal Service
  • Weekly phone calls
  • Weekly e-mails
    • Homework checks
    • Encouragement
    • A constant presence
    • Friendship

Shadow Day Activity

  • Elementary student is shadowed by a high school student
  • Provides mentors with a clearer picture of the needs of the younger students
  • Full classroom participation
