LEAP was developed in 1991 as a hands-on outlet to enhance the training of young leaders in Kay Hartzell's leadership classes at Brookfield Central High School.

Membership of LEAP:

  • High school Young Achievers and other leaders serve as board members and mentors.
  • Additional high school students are recruited as mentors.
  • Elementary "at-risk" students are identified by their classroom teachers and administrators.
